"The White Man's Burden"

The poem "white man's burden" was written in the 1899. This poem was written because of Spanish-American war and the way the Americans took over the Philippines. This poem means that all the trouble that the Americans had to go through to protect the Philippines. They believed that everything they were doing was helping the people of the Philippines and that it was up to them to help them.We are living "The White Man's Burden" because we are trying to make other people act, by forcing them to take on our own government and way of life. The U.S. imperialism is still under going. In Iraq Bush believes that "we" are currently having a peace war.
